The Society of Manchester & District Golf Captains is a prestigious organisation which has been in existence since 1955 and has some 650 members drawn from over 100 clubs within a 25 miles radius catchment area of Manchester Town Hall.

It is the objective of the Society to bring together Gentlemen Captains and Past Captains of Golf Clubs for the purpose of enjoying the competitive spirit and camaraderie of golf with like minded people who have been administrators of the game.

The Society arranges an extensive programme of fixtures each year for the benefit of the members and these well attended events provide the opportunity to play different Manchester courses through the years. Additionally, the Society holds an Annual Dinner in November where attendees are able to meet the Captain of the R&A, President Elect of the EGU and representatives of the County Organisations and other Captain Societies.

Current and Past Captains of clubs within the catchment area are invited and actively encouraged to become a member the Society. Enquiries for membership should be directed to the Hon. Secretary, Membership Chairman or any member of the Executive.
