Withington Golf Club stalwarts and top brass from many other golf clubs turned out in force to celebrate a special night for former Withington Captain Harry Prow.

Harry has enjoyed a great year as Captain of the flourishing Manchester Captains Golf Society and he enjoyed a great night at the society’s Annual Dinner at the sumptuous surroundings of Mere Golf and Country Club.

Joining Harry on the top table were principal guests Michael Lunt, the Captain of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, Richard Palmer the President Elect of the English Golf Union and the Presidents of Lancashire and Cheshire

Also in the attendance of over 200 were officials of other Captains Societies from across the country and members of clubs throughout the society.

Harry said: "It was a night to remember to be in such distinguished company and to have such great support from my own club."

As well as speeches from Harry, Frank Brooks and Michael Lunt the audience were also entertained by comedian Mike Lewis.
