The Annual introductory meeting was held
at Knutsford Golf Club on Thursday 23rd April 2009

new Captains along with 17 members of the Executive of The
Society were treated to 9 holes of golf in the delightful
setting of Knutsford Golf Club in Tatton Park on a perfect
day for golf.
The Competition was a Team Stableford – best 2 scores
to count off ¾ handicap
After
lunch the Captain of Knutsford Gary Smith welcomed the gathering
to this annual event which Knutsford were delighted to host
on behalf of The Society.
The
Captain of The Society Colin Shadbolt again welcomed the
guests and explained the aims and ethos of The Society.
He also advised that we realised that new Captains were
very busy in their year of office and that it was for this
reason that a new Competition had been put in place for
the Captains who had just come out of office. This was to
be held at Worsley Golf Club on Thursday 17th September
2009 for the Captains of 2008.
The
winning Team scoring 42 points was Jim Whelan (SMDGC) Brian
Ashfield (SMDGC) Christopher Lee (Mellor & Townscliffe)
Tony Ball (Sale) were presented with a sleeve of Society
logo balls.
