Leicestershire & Rutland Golf Captains
welcomed the Society Team to the magnificent Hinckley Golf
Club.
The Course was presented in superb condition and after lunch
the L &R team set about the demolition of the Manchester
team – to record a resounding victory - 8½
to 1½. The Captain Irvine Caplan was not, to say
the least, happy with this and threatened the Manchester
Team with a visit to a “Boot Camp” if things
did not improve!!!
After a delicious dinner the President of the L & R
society welcomed the SMDGC and our captain responded and
presented the Winning Captain with the Trophy and also a
plaque to commemorate our visit to Hinckley Golf Club.
In
spite of the result we all enjoyed a wonderful day with
our friends from the Leicestershire & Rutland Society
and we thank them for their generous hospitality and look
forward to turning the tables on them next year.
