The Society President's Day was hosted by
Bill Elliott at Bramall Park Golf Club on Tuesday 10th August
– the weather breezy but brilliant sunshine for the
1.00pm start.
The
course was presented in superb condition, which reflected
the excellent scores recorded.
The
Captain John Mould, and President John Paget, of Bramall
Park played as a fourball with Alan Preston, the Society
Captain and Jim Whelan the Society President Elect, they
later joined Bill Elliott the Society President for dinner.
The
Captain John Mould welcomed all present to Bramall Park
Golf Club and confirmed that the Club were proud to support
the President Bill Elliott in his year of office. He added
that they would be delighted to welcome the Society at Bramall
Park again in the future.
The
President thanked the Golf Club and The Society for their
support and courtesy to him over the many years he had been
associated with them and that he was proud to represent
Bramall Park G C as President of the Society. He presented
a commemorative plaque to the Captain of Bramall Park G
C to record our visit.
The
President's Trophy was won by:-
Graham Hampson and Shush Aggarwal both from Bramhall Golf
Club with a score of 42 points.
In 2nd Place with 41 points:- Daniel Stone and Edwin Thompson
both from Manchester G C
In
3rd place with 40 points:- John Paget – President
Bramall Park G C and Jim Whelan – President Elect
of The Society.
11 2’s were recorded in the Competition:-
Brian Holt, Colin Shadbolt, Kevin Shea, Irvine Caplan, Geoff
Hale, Mike Billington, Shush Aggarwal, Daniel Stone, Derek
Chadwick ,David Parsons, Tony Gregory
The
Society very much appreciates the way in which Bramall Park
Golf Club made us feel so welcome throughout the day and
a special thanks go to the Captain and his council for their
generosity and support in hosting our President’s
