The Match was played at the magnificent Oswestry
golf course.
Weather was fine but cold Ten 4 balls played and were lead
off by The Captain, Alan Preston and Brian Ashfield against
Herb Farrage the Captain of Shropshire & Herefordshire
and The Captain of Oswestry, David James.
The
golf as with all the 4 ball matches was played with good
spirit and the usual camaraderie.
The overall result was 7½ to 2½ to Shropshire
& Herefordshire.
We were entertained to an excellent dinner. Following which,
Alan Preston, our Captain as usual presented the Captain
of Oswestry with a Society Shield and also thanked Shropshire
and Herefordshire for their very generous hospitality.
The speeches were short but good and we left for home at
8.30 looking forward to meeting them next year up north.
