A field of 76 representing 27 different clubs enjoyed the traditional end of season Invitation Day at Sale Golf Club.

Our thanks go to Sale G C for hosting this event for us; the course was set up in magnificent condition.

Making the most of the very pleasant but blustery conditions were winning pair Daniel Stone and Ken Stafford both from Manchester G C who scored a fantastic 44 points to take the top prizes in the Invitation Day competition, 1 point clear of the Runners up on 43 points, Ken Webb & John Paget both from Bramall Park G C. This is the third consecutive year they have come second! But they are getting closer.

In 3rd place on 42 points were David O’Brian and Geoff Youd both from Bramhall G.C.

Just out of the prizes, in 4th place on 41 points:-
James Tweddle from Chapel en le Frith G.C. and Peter Bennett from Stockport G.C.

A total of 12 twos were recorded receiving 3 logo balls each

The Society Captain David Besant Roberts thanked the Captain of Sale G. C. John Royle and his Council for their generosity in hosting the event and congratulated him on the superb presentation of the course. The Captain presented the Captain with a cheque and commemorative plaque in appreciation.

The Captain John Royle thanked the Captain and commented that he was very proud to have been asked to host the event.

This is the last golfing event of our season and our thanks got to Tony Bowden and his team for organising this years fixtures in such an excellent manner.
