The Annual introductory meeting was held at Knutsford Golf Club on Thursday 21st April 2011.

21 new Captains along with 14 members of the Executive of The Society were treated to 9 holes of golf in the delightful setting of Knutsford Golf Club in Tatton Park on a perfect day for golf.

The Competition was a Team Stableford – best 2 scores from 4 o count off ¾ handicap. ( or full handicap if only 3 in the team)

The Captain of Knutsford was unable to attend but did send a message to welcome the gathering to this annual event which Knutsford were delighted to host on behalf of The Society.

The Captain of The Society Alan Preston again welcomed the guests and explained the aims and ethos of The Society.

The point was made that of all the Captains Societies around the UK, The Society of Manchester & District Golf Captains was one of the very few who had the Captain of The R & A attend their Annual Dinner as principal speaker.

The Dinner will this year be held at Lancashire County Cricket Club on Tuesday 1st November 2011 and he recommended that all should make every effort to attend this prestigious event.

3rd Place :-
Brian Ashfield SMDGC. John Royle (Sale), Harry Marshall (Stamford)
and Brian Slipper (Northenden) 40 points card play off

4th Place :-
Jim Whelan SMDGC, Phil Massey ( Heaton Moor ) Mita Ranshi ( Withington ) and Ian Perks ( Peover ) 40 points card play off

There were Two 2s Brian Slipper @ the 5th and Barry Swainson @ the 3rd.
