The Match was played at Northenden golf course which as always was presented in immaculate condition.

Weather was blustery and Ten 4 balls played and were lead off by The President, Jim Whelan & Brian Slipper, Captain of Northenden against Peter Simms the Captain of Shropshire & Herefordshire and David Sayers Hon Secretary of Shropshire & Herefordshire.

The golf as always was played with good spirit & the usual camaraderie.

We entertained our friends from Shropshire & Herefordshire too an excellent dinner. Following which, Brian Slipper, Captain of Northenden welcomed the gathering to Northenden Golf Club.

Our Captain David Besant Roberts thanked the Captain of Northenden for their generosity in hosting the event for us and asked that our thanks be passed to all concerned in making the day such a memorable one. He then presented the Captain of Northenden with a Society Shield to mark the occasion.

The Captain of Shropshire & Hereford responded thanking Manchester for their hospitality and looked forward to meeting again next year.

The overall result was a win for Shropshire & Herefordshire, 7 - 3
