A field of 76 enjoyed warm sunny weather
for the traditional opening day of the Manchester Captains
Society season at Manchester Golf Club.
Making
the most of the conditions were winning pair Peter Oldham
from Bramhall G C and Dave Strachan from Mellor and Townscliffe
G C who scored a fine haul of 44 points to take the top
prizes in the Founders competition.
The day was also the traditional start of the reign of the
new officials of The Society with Colin Shadbolt from Bramall
Park G C becoming the new society Captain, taking over from
Robbie Phillips of Hazel Grove G C.
Joining Colin in the top office is Jack Bishop of Sale G
C who has become the new society President and Irvine Caplan
from Whiteside G C was appointed as the new Vice Captain.
