The Leicestershire & Rutland Golf Captains Society were entertained at the magnificent Vale Royal Abbey Golf & Country Club on Wednesday 17th September. The match rearranged from May when it was cancelled due to heavy rain.

The course was presented in superb condition and the weather warm and sunny.

Our Captain Colin Shadbolt led the way with a magnificent win (his words) but unfortunately the team could not keep up to his high standard and Leicestershire& Rutland ran out winners 6 – 4.

The Teams sat down to dinner in the magnificent Clubhouse and the evening concluded with the presentation of “The Ball” to the winning President.

Our sincere thanks go to the Captain and Council and Staff of Vale Royal Abbey Golf & Country Club for hosting this event and making it such a memorable day.

Best wishes to them when they celebrate their 10th Anniversary of the opening of the course, on the 1st October.
